Ghost of Camp Halfbood

Hilo, hilo! So, I am here to show you this picture that I have created out of boredom.    Tada.

Now, let me explain exactly what this picture is.

It was supposed to be a regular, average girl but I needed to do something about that plain, blank shirt so I colored it orange wrote CHB and now she is a demigod. However, since I couldn’t decide on the skin color and hair, I left it blanked and colored everything else. So, to make a really good excuse of why she is super pale with white hair, let’s just go with ghost. The demigod that was stabbed and became a ghost. The one thing I’m not sure of is whether of not, the ghosts in that world where colorless of not. Haha, question of the day?

I hope you like it!

Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

Love, love, LOVE this series. I read the first book called Cinder last year and let’s just say that I was hooked.

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Cinder returns in the second thrilling installment of the New York Times-bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother and the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she has no choice but to trust him, though he clearly has a few dark secrets of his own.

As Scarlet and Wolf work to unravel one mystery, they find another when they cross paths with Cinder. Together, they must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen who will do anything to make Prince Kai her husband, her king, her prisoner.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker – unfortunately, she’s being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she’s just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she’d ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

Coming out on November 2015

I like how it’s all fairy tale based. Cinder is Cinderella, Scarlet is the Little Red Riding Hood,Cress is Rapunzel, and Winter is Snow White. Although, it may sound weird but it has this really cool combination of cyborgs, fairy tales, and ‘aliens’ which are called Lunars. It is a weird combo when you think about it but the way Marissa Meyer wrote it, it is brilliant. I like the action, romance, and the fact that main female characters aren’t petty damsels in distress. Sometimes, yes, they do need saving but they do help to fight back.

I can’t wait for Winter that comes out next year. That’s so far! Aw, I wish it’s already here because I am really curious of what’s going to happen.

The summaries are from Marissa Meyer’s website. Check it out!

Why Books are Awesome

I always wondered why some people don’t like to read. Take my older brother for example. He doesn’t like to read just for fun, only for assignments. I never did understand why. Books gave us so much more. For example…

These things pieces of papers with words called books, helps us create a world that, sadly, isn’t real. Have you ever watched or seen Harry Potter? JK Rowling creates this magical world with dragons and evil no-nosed villain. She helps us dream of a world of Quidditich and weird named candy. We think of things that could happen. Will he die? Will Hermonie and Draco ever be together? What happens if Lily and James were still alive? These questions helps inspire fan writers to write fan fictions.

Books has words. From big words,to small words. To complicated words, to the simplest words there is in the entire world. In my personal experience, books helps me in the academic side in my life. When I read, sometimes I find words I don’t really understand. Context clues helps me but not all the time. That’s why we have dictionaries or the internet. Make those new words stick in your brain. You never know when you are going to need them later.

Relieving Boredom or Stress

Sorry to break the news to you but not every second of your life is going to be fun with friends or families. You aren’t always going to be laughing with your group or hanging out. Sometimes you are going to be stuck in your house with nothing to do. The cure for this? Reading.

Stress can be mild or severe. It can take over your brain and give you headaches. This can be caused by work, school, or your everyday life. You need a stress reliever. I suggest reading as one of them. Or napping.
