Anime Merchandise

As an obsessive anime fan I am, of course I want to buy some merchandise! My parents, don’t really give me allowance so all I do is dream of stuff I want to collect. Here’s some things I’m planning to buy one day in my life:

My future cuddle buddy

Dango, dango, dango,dango, dango…

I have tons more but those were just some examples.

AnoHana: The Flower We Saw That Day

Ticket for the feels train?

You know how to tell if an anime was good? If you felt the emotions that the character’s experience. If you felt their happiness, love and sadness. I felt all that when I watched this anime. I felt their happiness when they were together, their love for one another, and their sadness for themselves and mostly for Menma.

Gist:

10 years ago, one of the members of the Super Peace Busters named Menma, died in an accident. Afterwards, they slowly drifted apart as life went on. One summer day, Jintan saw the ghost of Menma and agrees to fulfill her wish. In order to do that, he needed to gather the rest of their group to do help. Along the way, they remember memories of the past and struggles of the present.

Let’s meet the characters!

Jinta Yadomi aka Jintan
Meiko Honma aka Menma
Naruko Anjō aka Anaru
Atsumu Matsuyuki aka Yukiatsu
Chiriko Tsurumi aka Tsuruko
Tetsudō Hisakawa aka Poppo

In the beginning, it was really slow and a bit confusing. Then when it hit the middle, it was getting progressively sad and when I finally finished it, I was crying. Clannad and Angel Beats were heartbreaking also but it didn’t actually make me cry. There were no tears running down my face, unlike Anohana. It builds up all the emotions, so you can let it all out in the end. The best 11 episodes of my life.

SPOILERS DOWN BELOW

Although it was super depressing to watch, there were one thing that I did find quite creepy. In the end, we find out that Yukiatsu really did love and still does love, Menma. There is nothing bad of loving someone, it just depends of how extreme you are of it. Dressing up as Menma, who is already dead, and even having a wig is just beyond creepy. Stroking, caressing and smelling the wig, is just disturbing. I also felt really bad for Satoshi. Satoshi is the younger brother of Menma and was little when she died. After, the accident, his mother began to neglect him because she was too depressed over her daughter. It must have been terrible to live in a household like that because he wasn’t treated as well as he could have been.

The ending was just too much. With the hide and seek and the letters…my emotions can’t handle it. I’m even tearing up just by typing and thinking about it!

“You found me.”

Anime Music

I am a huge fan of anime music. HUGE. When I hear the openings and ending I try to sing it in my best Japanese I could. Months ago I discovered an two amazing pianists who plays anime music. He is known as ~ishter-kun~ and he covered many anime songs from Psycho Pass, Anohana, Angel Beats, Clannad, Attack on Titan, SAO, 5 Centimeters per Second and many more.

Also, there is another amazing anime pianist known as Animez who has covered No Game No Life, Kill la Kill, Attack on Titan, Angels Beats, Code Geass, Guilty Crown, Mirai Nikki and many more.

Here’s a duet of ishter and Animez!

Angel Beats!

Hilo everybody! A few days ago I think died. Now I’m just a ghost somehow typing on my keyboard.

The reason why?

I’d cried too much that I have no water in me.

2010. For some of you, 2010, could have been the year you started liking anime/magna or the year you kept liking it. For others, including me, it was the year we never discovered anime.

It took me 4 years. 4 FUCKIN YEARS to discover this amazing anime, Angel Beats!. I am a disappointment. 😦 But I just go on my very own slow, slowwww pace.

For those of you who don’t know Angel Beats! is an 13 episode(14 including the OVA or 15 including episode 13.5) anime. I finish those 13 episodes in 2 days, which is a record for me. Watching the first season of Sword Art Online took me like a month. Heh, I procrastinate.

Anyways, here’s the synopsis:

The story of the Angel Beats! anime series follows the main protagonist Otonashi, a boy who lost his memories of his life after dying. Upon awakening in the afterlife, he meets a girl named Yuri who invites him to join the Shinda Sekai Sensen (SSS) (死んだ世界戦線, lit. Afterlife Battle Front), an organization she leads which fights against God for the cruel fates the SSS members experienced in life. Their only enemy in the world is the school’s Student Council President popularly known as “Angel”, a being with supernatural powers who appears to be in charge of keeping the status quo and the fight against the SSS.

If you go to the Angel Beats! wiki then you might wonder why this looked exactly the same as the Plot Overview on that website. It’s not like I copied and paste or anything like that! Fine…I did but I always feel lazy on summaries/synopsis.

Angel Beats! is everything that I love. Sad and has a good plot line. Unlike many books, anime/manga, TV shows etc. it doesn’t have many plot holes. This show answers all questions in our head but that one question. The question about Otonashi and Angel(Tenshi in the subbed, the one I watched or Kanade) and how did she get there first. I won’t go into much of that for those of you who haven’t watched it yet. Also, it’s the music! I love the music. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE! It’s beautiful and fits the plot so perfectly. Here’s the opening(MAY HAVE SOME SPOILERS):

Also, the one thing that I always think that everything should have. Humor. I love the funny scenes, the background music and how the characters expressed their feelings through face expressions and words. Here’s an example(don’t worry for spoilers, I watched it a lot but it doesn’t have much of the story in it):

My favorite scene!

There isn’t anything perfect in the world. This anime could have been one of the best and closest to perfection I ever seen. The reason it other characters back story and former past.  The rest of the Battlefront, like TK, Shiina,Matsushita 5, etc.  I understand they had a budget limit and that’s why there was only a certain amount of episodes but even the manga didn’t show anything. Well, that’s what the wiki says… It would have been nice to know how they got there and what their regret was. I’m okay with using more tissues!

Highly recommend watching Angel Beats! or maybe even watching again! Thanks for reading!
